lyrics
I was staring at the wall
Until the paint began to bleed
And the covers on my bed
Turned into paper
(Say it again)
The world was spinning
Outside
My
Door
And sea began to rise
Up from the floor
(Say it again)
Now someone told me,
“Don’t turn on the TV!
Until we figure something out
There’s nothing good on there to see!”
(Say it again)
Well I’m not really one
To follow their advice
But a break from all the madness
Might be nice
(Say it again)
So now I’m stranded with my phone
Wondering when they’re gonna call
Cause this waiting game is
Getting pretty old
(Say it again)
But I feel safer
Inside
My
Walls
Than I do when I go out
Into the cold
(Say it again)
If my boots were made to walk
And my lips were made to talk
And that heart of mine is
Beating like a drum
(Say it again)
Give myself some time to breathe
Cause we all know that’s
What I need
Until the King of Misdirection
Takes a knee
(Say it again)

My god, what an absolutely incredible Suite. I'll admit, I've struggled to get into Pharoah Sanders due to diving headfirst into some of his most challenging catalogue and that never worked. This is the perfect place to restart. Floating Points is new for me and I can honestly say I've never heard synthesizer music this lush and organic before. the LSO is just perfect. This is one of those albums that any serious music fan needs in their life. The perfect swan song for the great Pharaoh! 5/5 ClassyMusicSnob
